Using a Checklist to Stay Organized for Elderly Care near Pasadena, CA
Have you ever said to yourself ?
“There’s so much to do, I just don’t see any way that I can get it all done.”
“I totally forgot I was supposed to do that.”
“There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day.”
If you are an elderly care provider, do you ever feel this way? If so, then you’re not alone. But think, even though you may be overwhelmed at times, that doesn’t mean you can’t get everything done.
The last thing that any elderly care provider wants is to forget something important that they were supposed to do for their patient, loved one, or someone else who relies on that care. When you forget to do something, then you could be putting the patient at risk and that’s never something good, no matter how qualified, skilled, or talented you are as a caregiver.
No matter how much or how little you have going on throughout your life, it’s easy to forget some things. That’s why staying organized and having a list of things that you need to do is so important.
A checklist allows you to refer to it whenever you want or need to, and to mark off the things that you have to get done so that you can see the accomplishments that you’re making. It also keeps you more organized.
You can build a prioritized list of things that you need to do, but that doesn’t mean the list won’t change. If you have certain things that you thought were going to be more important in the morning, but by the afternoon you have other things that need to get done before the end of the day, you can always adjust the order of your checklist.
But that checklist will allow you to take a quick look at everything you planned to get done, and it will help you see if there are any important things that you might have forgotten.
Forget the digital organizers or the reminders that your smartphone or tablet provide for you. These are not the same as having a physical booklet or organizer on hand with a handwritten list that you can physically check off and cross out. It’s that physical presence that makes a difference.
There’s a reason why some of the top CEOs and leaders of the world still rely on the ‘old fashioned’ organizers and checklists. They work. When you’re responsible for elderly care, they’ll work for you, too.
However, if you consider the points raise here today, you’ll have a better idea of when it’s time for in-home care.
